-- If you don't know the WiFi password of your camera, this method will not work--

----First you have to download the correct firmware from - http://www.gopro.com -use your serial number of your camera and pass all to your sdcard,
From my files download all and place into folder, run cmd and write :cd <name of the folder> enter.now run :gpboot.exe --rtos section_00 and enter, don't try to modify any of those files, wait the gpboot to finish and leave the camera connected on usb.
1.you will see the red light on the frond of your camera with nothing on the display.
2.press cameras wifi button and started, blue light on.
3.on your phone go to the Gopro app and pair the phone and camera, you will see black screen preview.
4.final step just turn off the camera from the gopro app and wait.
camera will start the update normally like nothing happens.

link for the files here: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/ynqih9dj5233 ... YbLEa?dl=0
if you have any problems i will happy to help.

Hi
what part is not clear?
1.do you know the password of your WiFi? if yes you can continue.

2.place the files (sdcard) from my download in your formatted sdcard +the original files from the gopro.com using your serial number of your camera (is better if you have formatted sd made with working gopro).
ok.that was for the sdcard....now place your sdcard in the camera and connect your camera by remove and reinstall battery, hold shutter buttom and insert usb.follow installation of libusb drivers if you don't have them.

ok that was for the sdcard:--------

3.now download the rest of the files and place them in a folder.
4run ------gpboot.exe --rtos section_00 wait to finish, don't remove the usb,red light will come on.

4.press wifi buttom and start the wifi, blue light will come on.

5. now go to your phone and start the gopro application, enter the wifi password, connect and wait.
you will see the app try to show image, this will not happen, only black screen.

6.last step press the turn off button on the uper right corner.you will listen the camera shutting off, don't do anything ,you will see the arrow and the cam picture of update on your display......leave the camera do the job.

you will have to do the normal update after your camera is on by going on gopro.com and follow the instructions.

if you need any more info just ask.

Regards

hi
i have a problem with restoring Hero 3 Silver.

Initializing libusb
Could not set device configuration: -2. Continuing anyway.
Initializing DDR................................... done
Testing DDR....................... passed
Okay, loading and booting RTOS image section_00 on a Hero2 camera
Loading v312-bld.bin to address c0000000
... done
Loading relocate.bin to address c7000000
... done
Loading v312-hal-reloc.bin to address c8000000
... done
Loading section_00 to address c9000000
... done
Patching in a jump to our relocator..
Okay, here goes nothing...
Exec c0000000: 12 (ok)

After that the red indicator appears and blinks every 20 sec, looks like gopro reboots in a cycle.
Pushing wifi button does nothing.
Please help!

Hi
what files did you load on sdcard?
The red light on the frond has to be on ,not blinking, thats strange.

check your battery if fully charged.

I'd uploaded:
1. Original firmware file: HD3.02-firmware.bin
2. Files uploaded by you: autoexec.ash and update.cmd
The SD card was formatted to FAT32

Battery was fully charged in external charger. I also tired to power the device from laboratory power supply (4.2 volts)
but it does not show any signs of getting powered from it nor while uploading a firmware nor after that when rebooting
(the current meter display show 0mA on it).
