Hero4 Silver attaching to Linux

Postby ierton » Sun Nov 30, 2014 9:43 pm

Hi. Linux box doesn't load any driver when I attached my Hero4 Silver camera to the USB, just shows 'new usb device' in it's generic form. Does anybody see something better than this?

Here is my `lsusb` output
Code: Select all
[[email protected] ~ ]$ lsusb
Bus 003 Device 024: ID 2672:000d

Here is what dmesg says
Code: Select all
[[email protected] ~ ]$ dmesg
[ 6710.112117] usb 3-1.2: USB disconnect, device number 23
[ 6724.119021] usb 3-1.2: new high-speed USB device number 24 using ehci-pci

why do you want to connect the camera to a linux box? even with a mainstream OS, you'll get faster data transfer by taking the card out, and less problems with a "dumb" charger.

i haven't tried it recently... but did you connect the camera to the computer, then turn the camera on?
