GPH3 Black has 1080-60: 4.8 hrs @ "30 Mbps", seems better than Sony (1080-60P @ "28 Mbps")

I also wonder since they can do 2.7k-30: 3.2 hrs @ "45 Mbps",
why they cannot have 1080-30p @ "45 Mbps" or even higher bit-rate instead of just 1080-30p @ "20 Mbps"

Maybe still have chance to hack up to 1080 60P @ 60 Mbps, who knows

1080-60: 4.8 hrs @ 30 Mbps

What do the hours mean, on what type of card?

Protune modes are all higher bitrates I ran some tests earlier today and get 48mbps at 1080p60 and same with 720p120 with pt on.

I will post a full mode test somewhere more interesting then my backyard lol, maybe by the beach or at least somewhere nice when I get a chance :)

That's how many hours will fit on a 64GB card. (numbers are a bit optimistic.)

Therefore, I believe the CPU of GPH3 Black Edition still have lot more potential...

So do you mean Protune not only can works on 2.7k & 4k, also works on 1080, 720 & 480 mode?

Protune works in all modes except 480p, I just noticed also that 720p120 is in both wide and narrow modes both in regular modes and protune modes but at 60p is only available in wide mode atm. The 4k modes are the only ones that only work in protune and arent selectable with pro tune off, photos in protune mode are also in the same cine style as the videos and wb settings also effect photos unlike in the hero2 where protune on has no effect on photos.

Simultaneous photo and video doesnt work in protune and is only limited to a few video modes.

This is all using the latest firmware for the Black edition HD3.03.01.09

I wonder what type of card will works well on such high bitrates mode. Currently my top SD card is Sandisk Ultra 30MB/s* class 10 16GB...will it be able to work well on 1080 60p in protune mode...

Many people get confused between MB/s megabytes per second and Mbps megabits per second, The big B is byte and small b is bit but many muck these up and Im sure there are times I have written it wrong too  The video bitrates are in megabits but sd cards are rated in megabytes. 1 megabyte = 8 megabits so c10 at 10MB/s can do 80Mbps and faster cards at 35MB/s can write at 280Mbps so a c10 card is enough to write all protune modes, the highest rate I have seen a hero3 black record in was 55mbps in 2.7k so they do at times go above the rate in the specs.

Also hero3 cameras work with micro SD not regular sized SD cards so make sure your aware of that if your getting a hero3 camera.
