Guys,
I've written a blog post culling the various information from this thread and others about playing and capturing the live stream from the GoPro:
http://www.techanswerguy.com/2013/02/capturing-live-stream-from-gopro-hero-2.html

The only bummer with capturing the live stream is that it is so low rez. If we could only hack the firmware on this baby to increase the resolution! At least these guys are still trying:

cheers,

This is AWESOME!!! I have been working on this on my own for months...and NOW I find this...man...

I am a sem-professional videographer for Paintball. I do vids for my YouTube Channel, other YouTube Channels, Social Media...blah blah.

For the last few months, I have been trying to figure out how a small paintball team or field owner could use consumer grade electronics to stream a video and audio feed live to YouTube.

I figured it out last week...BUT!!

I was running into 2 major issues. VLC stand alone...sucks. It drops the preview all the time. It doesnt force a retry if the stream drops.
Wifi range by FFC rules and basic laws of physics can only go so far. This one I have overcame ... just last night. Will post via my youtube channel by Monday...but I am sure you smart cookies here have already figured that one out.

So you can see, I wish I found this forum a long time ago.

The WinGo App is brilliant. I have already tested...yes, I can see its using VLC but you have tweaked VLC so beautifully. The only small request from simple old me is if you can add a "keep a live" option...where it keeps trying the preview when it drops. I have people in the paintballl world who would PAY! for the use of your app. They just cant be sit beside their computer pressing preview all the time. So if you add that ability, I will flog it like h@ll for you....as I want it for Paintball.

I will do some testing, then create a YouTube Tutorial by Monday adding your brilliant and amazing work to what I have done to show how to stream from GoPro to YouTube. I will post a link to that video here for reference and feedback!

You guys are amazing!!! Thanks!

Tutorial is completed. Combines your amazing work here with some little tricks I know. Also...a number of large Paintball Social Media Companies are looking into this work and into WiGo.

Thanks again for your hard work!
