As the 3 holder can't be removed underwater without risk of filter loss, how is it with dispersing the bubbles caught between the filter and the housing glass?

When securing the lens onto the housing a water-tight seal is not created. Vents in the top and bottom of the filter allow the area between the housing and the filter itself to fill with water. A couple of quick shakes to get rid of any bubbles and you're set to go.
Mentioned in the video at 3:20 ;)
