Right-angle lenses

Postby bobwood » Thu Jan 22, 2015 1:52 pm

Any ideas out there about how to bend the field of view 90 degrees? A GoPro doesn't have filter threads or some such as may be found on SLRs, for which right-angle, or "spy lenses" can be bought from Polaroid and other vendors. I don't actually need to mount a mirrored prism or some similar solution to the camera body directly, although it might be nice to mount such a mirror to the weather-proof case, which for my Hero, has a hex pattern of screws holding its existing lens in place. It's got to be a pretty rugged solution (as in supersonic application).

All ideas welcome!

Buy filter adapter. Snake River Prototyping ( SRP ) has them at 55mm for GP housing. When you want to load some weight on the camera, make it on the housing so that you do not damage the camera lens assy.
How strong this will be........u need to test...
