Problem was I couldn't find ver3 anywhere as GoPro don't supplyprevious firmware versions. Have since managed to source a copy since asking and it has worked fine. Can now use my P1 and R1+ again.

Hi david!

Do you mind if I can have a copy of the V3 firmware, I was hoping to get my hands on that so I can downgrade my Hero4 Silver, Im having an issue of the latest update v5, It seems the version has alot of bugs to date.

Can NOT find USB device!!

Postby jackwzp » Sun Dec 25, 2016 11:27 am

Hi evilwombat,

I'm following your guide to try to revive my bricked gopro (it will not turn on or charge). I'm stuck at Part 2 & 3. When I hold the shutter button and plug in the USB into the camera, my windows PC (using USB 2.0) can not detect any usb devices. Neither can the Zadig program.

I don't see any USB device with the screenshot you posted. I also tried this on a Mac and running the h4_recover_mac.sh also says "Could not find the camera USB device. Is there another way to put the gopro into USB command mode? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Best Regards

Perhaps the problem is in DC / DC controller, or proсessor. You should also check the battery.
