gopro remote

Postby nporst » Mon Apr 17, 2017 11:18 am

Does anyone know if the remote I have for my hero 3+ will work with the hero 5 black?
It is the small gopro remote that has a screen, red circle, and mode button. It does not have the tool icon.
Also, is this remote up-dateable, if so, how?
Thanks for your time.

I tried to make it clear, I do not have the smart remote. That is the one with the tool icon.
My remote is an early version, purchased with the Hero 3+.
Anybody else have an answer?

Have you tried to pair them?
Set the HERO 5 to pair with a new remote and turn the remote on in pairing mode and see if they shake hands.

YES, old and new ones with TOOL ICON buttons work with H5, no problemo.

fassevilla, your answer in Spanish is as un-helpful as it is in English.
Sé cómo funciona el tubo.

In the time you waited for an answer you cold have found on out Gopro.com
https://gopro.com/update/
No mention of a remote update

Old remotes certainly worked on 4 so see no reason why won't work on a 5.
Of course you just don't have all the functionality but you knew that...

if you have one and tried and failed, why don't you post a better question?
