Wide angle

Postby hAIRyhEadFiLMs on Sun Oct 25, 2009 8:47 am

Hi,

Like most here I am really looking forward to getting my hands on this camera.I intend to use it up in the canopy of my Paraglider.I have ordered 3 of the new HD models but have a couple of questions.
Is the wide angle lens on the GoPro on the camera itself or is it part of the water housing? It looks to be part of the water housing. If so,what is the viewing angle of the view using just the camera? Thanks

the wide angle is on the camera itself. the housing bulges out like you see to accomodate the cameras "fish eye". the viewing angle is 170º in all modes but 1080 - which is 127º.

what an awesome idea, is there anywhere this camera cant be used? please post a video wen you can..I'm keen to see how it looks.

3 HD gopros  .. i'm jealous

an after thought i had was to connect 1 to the rope to get ppls/your reactions..but there isn't a clamp/attachment that would work(handle bar clamp might depending on thickness of rope)..would be useful for waterskiiers also..
