OC-1 Paddling

Postby Hanshead on Sat Feb 28, 2009 4:00 am

Here are my OC-1 Videos. They were filmed with 2 GoPro wides and home made mounts. I hope you like them. The site does not support embed code from Viddler, so I'm enclosing links...

Hanshead,
Nice videos. I was getting some strange static, though. Was that the camera sound?

Yes. With the camera mic set to high, it records the static you are talking about. If I was better at using iMovie, I think I could edit it out, but I'm not... With the mic set to low, you get almost no sound at all and the static is much less if not gone all together. I haven't recorded on the boat with it on low, yet, to check... Basically, the camera doesn't get much at all with respect to sound when it's in the housing. I tried to get as much as sound as possible by putting the mic on high, but it picks up the static you're asking about. Rambo might have some fixes, if any exist...

I mostly delete the original sound track and insert a new one, usually music or ambiance. The only other way would be to record to sound separately on an audio recorder and dub later.
