Any news on the release of the HD model yet?I was hoping by the end of October but havn't heard anything yet

their site used to say they were shipping out october 31st now it says they will start shipping the first week of november as your order was received, and you should get a shipping date estimate.

the vendor i ordered from says it should ship around november 10th with a delay on the spare batteries.

It'll be worth the wait guys, no point rushing product to market if it's not 100% ready and having to recall. I've hung back from making contact direct as i know they are as busy as hell with the release and need the space. Besides, i'm still finding ways to improve footage with the Std Wide, when you dial in the exposure using external composition control, the image quality from the std wide is awesome. Think about the static components of your composition, use these dark areas to dominate the auto exposure and your pictures will pop and have low noise.

This is an untouched, unprocessed screen-shot from a video frame showing what i mean. Notice how the dark foot peddles set the base exposure of the image. The camera is at its optimum quality setting, no unwanted gain, moderate shutter speed. This is very important if you have lot's of sky in the background and want shadow details to emerge,like the girls face.

Do you think I will recieve my HD Hero before november 20th?? Im going for a vacation to thailand, and the reason for me ordering the HD Hero is for this vacation.
It disapoint me that GoPro has changed the shipping date three times the last week. If they dont know for sure that the date is the right date, then they shuldnt use that date. That will only make false expectations..

But I really hope I will recieve my HD Hero before my vacation. Will be really diapointed if not.

im starting to get pretty antsy waiting for my GoPro. from what ive been told ive got about 2 more weeks of waiting. i almost forgot im gonna have to look for a 32GB sd card. know of any places to get em for a good deal? ive seen them for between $70-$100+ on amazon.

Two 16Gbs might be a better option, depends on how long you want recording. I'm guessing the clips will be 4Gb each with an auto restart each time. Could be wrong haven't looked into that. May also need Class 6 SDHC.
