I'm on a Mac w/ OSX and when I "Get Info" to read the EXIF data, the firmware is not listed under "More Info". Anyone have any suggestions/solutions?

Open the file in Preview, and Get Info from within there (Command-I). Under the TIFF tab in the window that comes up will be a line "Software" with the version in it.

Awesome! Thanks. My camera shipped from GoPro with the current firmware.

I just got a new Hero 2 and downloaded the latest firmware. I was wondering once you have installed the firm ware on to the camera, if you could delete the firmware on the SD card? I am using a Mac computer.

Thanks
Amanda

After you have installed it,yes you can delete it.
It is a good idea to put a copy of the Firmware bin. folder in your computer or on an external hard drive in case you ever need to re-flash the firmware or roll back to that version for any reason.
